Number of radiators on a system

Hi looking for a wee bit help as to the number of radiators which can be connected to a central heating system. Is there a maximum number? Also can i change single radiators to double radiators without putting too much exertion on the pump and system. Any help greatly appreciated.

The boiler has a maximum output, only known to you since you don't tell us. The total radiator load, plus losses from pipework, plus an allowance for hot water, should not exceed this output if you want the boiler to cope in design conditions.
