Oil Heating: Boiler won't start after running out of oil

Numpty wrote

it is just a boiler stat

Going by your theory the boiler has overheated to 110 C.
Why would it do that if it had just ran out of oil ??

I have. He states " i have unfortunately allowed my oil to run out and can't get my boiler to start up again"

are you familar with with ni?

Do boilers controls behave differently in ni compared to the mainland. ?

mine is not a theory

Its a "theory" and nothing more.
I suggest you read over what the OP has written.

And if you think it is not a "theory" then explain why the boiler has overheated to 110 C when it has just ran out of oil.

Hello sorry i couldn't respond sooner. I was able to get an engineer out today. He said the boiler had overheated/ tripped out, and needed reset. It must have been just around same time oil ran out. He was in, done the job, paid and out again all within 5 minutes. £40. Fair enough for very short notice on Christmas eve. Thanks for all the help, Happy Christmas.
