Oiling old wide board oak floor

My kitchen in my 1733 house has wide board oak floors. They are quite worn. I oiled them with rosewood oil yesterday and some of the boards turned black in areas. Is there anything I can do to lighten these areas? Also, what would be the best way to restore the floors? Many thanks for your assistance!

I have never heard of rosewood oil being used before.
