old blown plaster

new house old plaster i removed the wall paper on some sections and the plaster feels tho it has come away from the original wooden lats behind. i am wondering if it possible to reattach some how as i dont fancy taking it off as i fear it will all fall away. i am thinking maybe a couple of holes to pour some runny plaster or glue it then push the old stuff back to the lats.
any advice.

Sounds to me like it's knackered, and you going to require dust sheets, dust mask, goggles, gloves, rubble bags etc......
