Guys,

Recently got a new boiler put in, as i didnt want the old flu hole being bricked up with non matching roughcast i decided to leave the old flu in place with the metal guard still on the outside.

In the inside i just put a bit of boarding over the hold and silicon sealed it.

I know this is a bit of a bodge, but will this show up in a survey? If so, how much is it likely to cost to put right?

Cheers

About £5, 1 breeze block inside and 6 brick outside bit of s & cement and jobs done

Showing up or not depends on the surveyor, provided no air can enter from close to the new flue, it is not considered a heating matter

Go to your nearest "Builder Center" and find bricks that match and finish the job. Otherwise it looks like a cowboy job!
