Hi there

im after some advise and appreciate any help!

i have an old feature bay window with the original patterned stain glass in the attached pictures. I’m getting it replaced with a new one but want to keep the pattern. I’ve been told you can put these old sash in the actual new double glazed window is that possible? And would you advise it?

the guy who quoted to replace it says I will have to get it replicated, does anyone know how good you can actually replace it?
Thanks for your help!

Do I need a specialist rather than a regular window fitter?

I imagine a specialist, and the frame will need to be designed for the window?
ie presumably the company makes the units a standard size to meet profiles for the windows but do your research.
They may be heavier as well?

As tigercubrider says , it's unlikely your existing glass will fit the new window on its width and height. You will need to speak to the supplier of the frame and get the window aperture made the right size to take the original piece of decorative.
I'm also not sure how you would stand on the energy rating of the window with the original stained glass within the sealed unit.
