One might guess that the Aussies ... Take sport seriously .. and know how to go about producing performers !!
Importantly, it would appear that there is an underlying, successful program to channel youthful vigor, good on them I say !!

From that website, the 2000 Sidney results

US 97
UK 28
OZ 58

So, the Australian medal outcome was less this year than the last time. However we have seen an increase of 2 medals! So the change in medals per person is

US +0.082 medals/million
UK +0.19 medals/million
OZ -0.83 medals/million

So, we are doing pretty well there! :D
 
just saw sir steve redgrave saying that if the american swimmer (forgot his first name!) phelps was a country he would have come 16th in the medals table!!!!!!!!
 
Heard something on Radio 4 the other day that if the Ozzy tax payer saw how much each of those medals had cost them, then they might not be so pleased.

But if they saw how much our beurocracy costs us, compared to their own, they'd see that their medals are cheep as chips.
