Thinking of installing a Baxi DuoTec (Mk2) 40 GA... Have read various negative reviews on here of the new Baxis, but was wondering if anyone actually has anything positive to say about them?!
Flow-rate seems very good for the 40kW version (16 l/min?). But this is probably over-powered for the house heating requirement (calculated at just over 10kW or 35,000 BTU/Hr). However it is to run separate bath and shower in the bathroom, along with an en-suite shower - hence interested in the flow-rate. Mains water pressure is good, and both showers will have 3 body jets, etc. Was looking at a system boiler / un-vented cylinder set-up, but unfortunately now looks impractical for various reasons.
More importantly, is their 5-year extended warranty any good?!
Threads on here seem to suggest avoiding early models with 11 in the serial number (gas valve problems?).
Anyone got any idea of the cheapest price around?
