Hi,
Have purchased some fire doors as an overstock item and plan to fit them in FD60 hardwood frame. The frames have a rebated edge which forms the jamb with the intrusmecent strips set in side the frame. I have mounted the door within the frame and it doesn't look out of place having the 10mm gap from the front face of the door and the face of the frame. Obviously like this the hinges would need cutting into the frame so not sure if they would still function or it would look out of place. Do I have any other options? Was thinking of planting another pieve of wood or MDF on the jamb to make up the 10mm thus be then able to mount the door normally or perhaps ply 1 face of the door to make up the difference. Or perhaps over sized hinges would work?
Thanks for any suggestions
