Hi
at my dad's house he has an outdoor lantern type light on the wall next to the front door that is currently wired in twin and earth tacked all along the outside wall. I want to hide the cable and drilling through to inside seems best.
If I drill through the back of the fitting in to the house it would bring me out in the kitchen about 1m down from the ceiling..
Is it then acceptable to chase up the wall in to the ceiling to then route the cable back to the consumer unit? I was always told you had to have an accessory suce as a switch in order to keep the cable within a safe zone.
Any help would be great!
