Have you just fitted a new oven in.

If so was it new or second hand.

Sounds like you've bought a turkey. What is tripping, the fuse or mcb that supplies the socket or the rcd that covers the whole/part of the consumer unit? When you turned the oven on for 5 mins did it heat up?

yup seems to heat up leave it on for 5 mins or so turn it off bang trips main rcd all electric gose off then keeps triping the fact that the temp selector light is on even though no selection is made when temp selector moved to left a little gose off but still trips when oven turned on when warm have dissconected feed wire to selector switch from thermostat light is off coonect back light comes back on im going to try tommorow a nother test to try and get furthur insite to suspicion could be themostat switch

It seems to me more like the element is failing(earth leakage) when warm, it is a common problem with ovens on rcd circuits, just try disconnecting the element & see if it still trips. You may need a new element or need to move the socket supply to the non rcd part of your consumer unit(if you have one).
