My Ferroli sigma 20/40 boiler overheats when you switch it on. Turning the temperature control knob on the boiler makes no difference, the radiators get really hot and then the pipes rattle as the overflow kicks in and flows into the expansion tank. Often this overheating takes about 30 mins from cold.

I suspect it is a simple problem (boiler thermostat or mother board).

How much should this problem cost to repair? I have seen that new thermostats on these boilers are only about 3-5 pounds.

Anyone in the Leeds/Pudsey area want to look at this and fix it for me?

i'll be up shortly guv....

couple quid petrol and a couple quid to swap whatever you have diagnosed is wrong with it.

so that will be £3-5 for the part £2 for petrol and £2 for my time cos it doesn't take a minute.
call it £7 for cash guv
