Overheating Rayburn

Great stuff and thanks again...the Rayburn is a 499K circa 1999.
I'm familiar with HPS and AGBO too, get quite a lot of parts from them.
I don't have the means to post a photo (yet) but you've given me loads to go on - much appreciated!
Cheers John :D

I was reliably informed that the Rayburn branded prog was built to withstand more heat than the standard 6400, but this may have bee a porky, to try and fleece me out of a lot of cash!!

The area behind the programmer is lined with some quality cardboard, hopefully holding the insulation in place - which is stuck to the casting with fireclay cement. The stat phials are held in likewise. Thats why there was a small landslide of the stuff which landed on the burner housing box.... another tribute to fine design. This appliance will be carved onto my gravestone - should I require one. Johnny Rayburn
