Padstones aren't square

Hello. Following on from my last tread ive got my old man to pick some padstone up for me as Ive been working away.


Do they need to be pretty square as the once ive got don't seem very square in any direction.

Here are some pics which show it up quite well.





I no that one side will be beded into the wall but the RSJ will be sitting ontop of the other side so id think you would want them as square as possible

sweet Im happy with that. where the set square is is the same face the RSJ will be sitting ontop of. Thought it seemed abit doggy for the RSJ to be sitting at a slightly doggy angle.

They've not gone overboard with the tamping have they.
There's more holes in them than a piece of Swiss cheese :)
You could pack a gap on one side with a metal shim, if you like..
 
they have to make them with a draft like that on at least 2 sides to get them out of a mould.
