Hi,

I am in the process of preparing the walls in my kitchen to paint. I was filling the holes when I noticed the paint around one of the holes was peeling so I scraped it with my filler knife. What a mistake! The paint keeps coming away from the wall in great stripes, its like scraping wallpaper off the walls but easier. :(

What should I do? Continue to scrape it until I find a solid bit of paint? Stop and patch it with filler?

I'm down to bare plater board

Cheers

Chris

Just try stopping and letting the filler dry..sometimes it will all dry and go back tight. like wallpaper. Then caot bare patches with thinned down emulsion to seal.
Tho if that dont work afraid you will have to carry on taking off old unsound paint untill you get to sound paint. maybe have to line. Might be due to thick coat being applied to bare boards. or dreaded property developers pva.

Loads of other ers like was it paper'd?

good luck
