I'm building a house using solid softwood logs, squared and planed. I'd welcome any recommendations for painting or staining the new wood. We're looking for a shade of grey similar to weathered oak, and a long-lasting finish which can be easily recoated when it eventually needs to be. Sikkins Cetol/Rubol or Sadolin Superdec seem to be the main options.
