painting around multi fuel burner

HI, we have just had one fitted and its ready to paint the recess it sits in, the guy that fitted it said normal emulsion was ok but our decorator is not sure as it could get hot. I am not an expert but we have replastered and there is some kind of metal sheet render (is that correct term?) above & each side of fire. Can anyone advise if specialists paint required?

I think you may be able to get heat proof paints for this situation, but we just used masonry paint round ours and it seems to work fine.

You should be fine with masonry paint. Just avoid anything with vinyl in it.
