painting decking boards

I have used decking boards to repair an old garden seat. They are tanalised and waxed. Can they be painted and if so what kind of paint and preparation is needed please ?

Waxed.....dodgy...you may have adhesion problems if you put stain/varnish over them..id go for more wax.

Try here under garden. They have coloured oil for garden furniture that might 'stick' to the waxed surface.
