I am planning to decorate my son's room with white matt emulsion. 3 walls are fine and will cover easily (I hope!) However, the 4th is a shiny deep purple colour.
I have tried a small area with brush and Johnstone Coverall Vinyl Matt, but, can still see the original colour slightly and don't think this will be acceptable.
Question 1) Do I need to sand it down first?
Question 2) Should I be looking to use a primer before attempting the final coats? If so, what are suggestions to use?
Many thanks!
