Painting fence, dark to light?

Hello guys

Hoping to get some advice. I want to paint my garden fence an autumn gold colour, however the fence is currently stained Dark oak. Is it possible to get an autumn gold paint that can go over and cover dark oat?

If you keep painting it, it may start to go the way you want it. Fence paint is water based and will sit on the surface of the wood. Give it enough coats and it will. !
