painting my wood internal doors

hi need help on how i thin paint down an wots it called i want to paint my internal wood doors white gloss they are new an never been painted b4 wud this need primeing first then gloss thinning down b4 i apply my gloss coat or just straight out the tin kind reguards carl :)

bare wood :?: knotting- primer- undercoat -gloss don`t thin the gloss but use a diy non drip one ;)
 
and use a rad roller then if needed brush the marks out,SAVES a lot of time ;)

I don't like knotting

are they actually wooden doors like pine, with knots in, or are they a pressed fibreboard door? Are they flat or panelled?

if you want to paint them white, a grey primer is not usually as good as a white one, and emulsion is not very good as a primer (it will also raise the grain due to the water content)

but it depends what they are made of... see above
