Please advise the best method. I intend use silk magnolia paint. I want to paint as few coats a possible without the orange colour glowing through. Tnx

you could try a high opacity paint such as

"Oh those heady colours of the 70`s" ( Nostalgia) long time since I have seen or painted over Tangerine coloured Emulsioned walls 
Give them a rub down, a mist coat of Trade White matt Emulsion to seal walls, then a couple of good coats of Trade White Matt Emulsion should ensure total obliteration, then the finish coats.
