Hi,

We was painting a small spare bedroom but noticed that I had incorrectly brought Silk finish rather than the Matt I intended to buy. We have painted the entire room in the Silk as an undercoat.

Will painting over (2nd coat) in Matt give us the disired finish or not? If so how's best to correct.

Thank you.

I would imagine, that as its silk, you may need to key it by rubbing it all down.

Matt may not adhere as well, so either a good flatting off to lose the shine or paint with oil based undercoat or Zinsser Coverstain first then paint in your chosen finish.

I didn't recommend zinser as it costs a small fortune
But yep, the would do it.
