Hi,
I need to paint the outsideof all my windows and window frames before winter. The previous owner of the house has used a number of coats of wood stain (ronseal 5 year) on the windows over the years but we'd like to go with a painted finish instead.

I know that it cna be very difficult to paint over woodstain and that a good undercoat is key. Can recommend any products out there that might work well? Once undercoated I was hoping to go with an eggshell finish in a light colour.

FYI, they are sash case windows which are about 30 years old and are in very good condition (probably on account of the manay layers of wood stain).

Cheers,

iep
