Just wondering if anyone would be able to enlighten me as to why the sound on this portable stereo cd system my have died. Having said that, you still get a very low level of sound when it is turned up to full volume.

Either your ampifier circuitry has gone faulty, or the line input selector is switched to the wrong input , and the small sound that you hear is the signal backfeeding through a different input.

Could e an internal fuse popped, or a voltage down on the psu circuitry.

Do any other functions work, eg the radio, tapes??

I suggest it would cost more to get it fixed by a pro than getting a new one!
