Hi, we have gas central heating via a gas powered rayburn. Because of the rise in gas prices we decided to add a solid fuel parkray to the system to take advantage of free (to us) wood.
The parkray chilton is second hand. We plumbed it all in (or rather our knowledgable friend did. He had fitted the rayburn system for us. For the first 2-3 days all went well, the rads were getting nice and hot with no problem from being run from the parkray only. Then on about day4 or so we noticed that the rads were really not so warm and neither was the hot water. The rads did not appear to be airlocked, with consistent heat across their surfaces. We decided to fire up the rayburn to see if that would heat the rads properly. This it did heating them all up really well and quickly.
We are considering running some type of sludge buster through the system to see if this will help. Has anyone got any idea what is happening?!

Nobody can do anything other than guess the answer this without knowing how your friend plumbed in the two boilers.
