Hi there,

I just bought some used parquet flooring. I am a novice, but want to learn. I have a relatively modern house with chipboard flooring. It is level, but I have been advised that it may flex too much and that I should therefore lay 6mm plywood. Is this necessary or a good idea ?

Thanks a lot

Chris

Besides level is the chipboard also firm i.e. NOT bouncing?
You can check that by walking over it and watching furniture wobble, or someone watching you and the floor.
If it it firm I can't see any problems with installing the parquet with proper parquet adhesive on the chipboard.

Thanks a lot - time to rip that carpet up and take a look - appreciate the speedy help
:D
