Parquet flooring

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, and I hope someone can offer some advice.
I'm looking to sand down my 35 year old basketweave parquet floor. Do I use a belt sander, a drum sander or indeed any other type? As i can't 'go with the grain' I don't want to risk spoiling it.

Belt sander is the best.
