I am looking at laying reclaimed Parquet flooring and wanted some advice. Looking to fit electric underfloor heating and wanted to know if anybody can confirm if I need to remove the bitumen from the Parquet before laying. I have to have 10mm levelling compount layed on top of the underfloor heating but didn't know if the heat would effect the bitumen if it wasn't removed. First timer so need any advice anyone has please

You absolutely have to remove all bitumen from the blocks especially when there is UFH involved.
Bitumen is no longer allowed to be used in side the home due to being toxic - especially when it gets warm (=UFH). Plus imagine the smell of it!

Also, most electric under floor heating is just 3mm thick in cable of matt form and the screed used has to flexible and just enough to cover the cables (4-5mm).

If you had a 10mm screed and say a 20mm parquet floor you would have to turn the heat on about 2/3 hours in advance of the floor getting warm.
