I am planning out my garden and want to rebuild my patio and extend it. There is a slight fall in the garden away from the house. It initially looks like it will be 3 courses needed to keep the patio level. Patio will be Porcelain slabs on a full mortar base witch is on top of MOT1.

Do I need to build in drainage to the retaining wall of just 3 courses, will there be enough water pressure from behind to make the wall fail?

No.

Always use the retaining wall as a 'frame' for the slabs and not to run the slabs onto the top of the wall...
