I see. I just assumed it was a lot quicker. Maybe when they say they are doing bacs they’re doing this FPS thing perhaps, cause it seems to be hitting our account quickly.

there is a risk with Fastpay that you might make a mistake with the numbers, and pay the money into the wrong account.

There is no reliable way of getting it back, and the bank will not reimburse you. Even if you have entered "MW Reliable Roofing Ltd" as the payee name, and the recipient's account name is actually "Woodbine Offshore Inc."

The same thing happens if you pay the money into an account number given to you by a person pretending to be the person you meant to pay.

I usually pay a pound first, and wait for the trader to confirm they have received it.

IZettle looks good , I’ll look into it , I spoke with Worldpay today but they wanted £30 for reader & £22-50+vat per month contract & 1.75% per Transaction.... a bit dear for something that may be gathering dust in the Van , maybe look at it again in a year or so , or sooner if Cheques die

Thanks for the input Guys , I’ve gone with I Zettle , they’ve got an offer on until January £19+vat for the Reader usually £59+vat it’s 1.75% per transaction .... sounds good to me
