Pea gravel surrunding sewer pipes

Hi everyone,

Is there a standard for the thickness of pea gravel surrounding a 4" sewer pipe? I'm sure I've been told it's 3" around the pipe, dont want to put not enough and have the building inspector say I've got to dig out more ad put more in!

I've never known a BCO measure it so you should be OK.

Only cover half the pipe prior to inspection, then cover the pipe once the bco has done his bit.
