Does anybody know the best place to buy those light coloured pebbles that are suitable for gas fires?

I am currently giving my gas fire a new look by replacing the mantel and hearth and I am planning to get rid of the imitation coal and replace it with pebbles to give it a more modern look.

I presume you can't use ordinary pebbles! Or perhaps there is something you can buy to treat the stones before putting them in? I dont know.

Does anybody have any ideas?

I think the answer to your question is that you can't replace the coals on your fireplace with pebbles.

The fireplaces with pebbles come with them. And all imitation coals/pebbles are fireplace specific. You would have to replace the whole fire to get the pebbles. I think B&Q does a gas fire with pebbles for undr £200.

I would strongly advise that you don't just use ordinary pebbles.

Sorry if this messes up you plans but when it comes to gas Safety should be your main priority.

You can buy "fire" pebbles, try a specialist gas fire supplier, but god knows what they would cost.

Cheers

I think the best thing for me to do is to just buy a new Gas Fire alltogether I think. I am on a bit of a budget and B & Q have a good range. Think I will go there.
