I started building my extension in July 2008, rear extension to a terrace house, single storey, 4m x 2.2m, not more than 50% of the garden etc etc.
I have only just got round to completing the foundation slab.
There has been a slight amendment to the PDR's stating that now the extension has to be no more that 3m depth from the rear of the 'original dwelling house'
The terrace house used to have an outbuilding, which was approximately 1.5m depth, so taking that into account the current extension would fall under PDR.......but prior to the changes of PDR I’m fairly sure there was no stipulation on the depth, other than not taking up more that 50% of the garden etc .
I’m basically wondering if this still falls under the old PDR (prior to October 2008) or am i going to be caught out? I did originally write to the council asking if planning was required, submitted some architects drawings, and they wrote back saying they didn’t think it would require PP....I still have the letter dated summer 08.
Also, when measuring from the rear of the property, should i measure from the old outhouse (which was removed prior to myself purchasing the property) or from the current back wall of the house? I’m sure the PDR rules state its from the 'original dwelling house'?
