My radio has stopped working in my Peugeot 106 (L reg).
The alarm light fitted to it was still flashing but the digital display and volume would not work.
So, I disconnected the battery and reconnected it.
Now the alarm light doesn't even work.

Next thing, I checked all the fuses with a multimeter and they all seem intact.
So, now I'd like to remove the radio. I saw some mechanics do this once before when they had to get the code for the radio and I know I'll need some flat keys to do it, but not sure which kind.
I've seen some on eBay - are these standard?

Any other advice / recommendations for what to do/check?

Thanks

Actually, thinking about it, they might have used some sort of plastic down the sides to release the latches.

Any substitutes I could use instead of that?

I have the code from the previous time when the local Peugeot dealer got it for me (for about £15...more like £25 now).

I'm pretty sure it's a Clarion radio but of course, it doesn't say the model or make on it...just Peugeot.
Not sure which of these to get plus they look quite pricey:

Is there no way I can do this using a screwdriver or some homemade tools?
A new radio probably comes in at around £16 on eBay so I'm keen to keep this cheap as it's a fairly old car already.

If they have a round hole in the radio then you can normally use a couple of allan keys to press the release catches down then pull the radio out or you could use a couple of thin brazing/welding rods bent into a U-shape
Some peugeot radios only have a single round hole so just need one rod either side
