Hi does it push the dip stick out? how many miles has the car done? because it sounds like its got to much crank case compression, not a good thing. jim.

Any votes for a flame trap full of mayonnaise?

Most engines have a breather pipe from the top end / rocker box area connected to the air filter or inlet tract to release blow-by gases. There's usually a flame trap in the pipe, often resembling a small baked bean tin stuffed with brillo pads.

After many miles, and quite a few cold starts, the pipe and flame trap can get bunged up with carbon deposits or a yellowish creamy oil /water emulsion closely resembling mayonnaise.

Deprived of the official exit route, excess blow-by gases build up in the crankcase and find their way out wherever they can. Often the dipstick hole is favourite, where it tends to carry some of the sump oil out with it.
