It will either be a replacement thermocouple required or a clean out of the pilot injector....when was the boiler last serviced?

Chances are that BG did not give it a full service just a check, are you on a BG contract ?

Good chance the 'service' only took 15 minutes- most of it doing paperwork.

Am looking at a system that has similar cover. The client has been told he needs a new boiler, pipes are blocked and a power flush is needed. Also that the boiler is too old hence no parts are available. Many engineers have een to look at the installation, each with oun theory of what is wrong. One engineer said that the boiler was locking out with pilot outage due to overheat. Guess what- the boiler DOES NOT have overheat protection.

Simple answer is call BG and tell them that you feel the service was not conducted to CORGI specifications and demand they come back out and carry out a complete service of the Boiler at their expense, and they also replace the faulty part, which is likely to be the thermo-couple.

thanks peeps, not on BG contract well was 3*, extension built and builders used grey pipes now BG wont give us full cover...donw graded us very mad..

thanks guys it was thermocouple now we have heat again...  :)
