I have access to offcuts of PIR foam from our work and would idealy like to use these to insulate the loft instead of rockwool for the obvious reasons ( itchy, coughing etc.. )
is the insulation value roughly the same per inch or do I need a deeper or shallower depth of PIR?
these offcuts are about 1-2 inches thick and would be cut and layered so that no seams are over another, and if needs be sealed with silver foil tape where they meet..
some insulation products come with "foil" backing, would putting a layer of kitchen foil over or under the PIR help at all? ( presumably to reflect heat back down?? )..
