Evening all.

Not sure we're this should go.

The concern is I've got a multi stove going to be fitted and the builder is asking does he need to render the door return or can he just plastic cap it and board?

I've attached a picture of the flue that runs close by. View media item 78412

The stove information should show what clearances are required around the sides and back.
The building regulations indicate the requirements for hearth construction and nearest combustible surfaces (plastic capping and plasterboard are not non-combustible).
Drawings/details submitted to Building Control should show the plan. You have got these?
Is the flue going up through the ceiling or out through the wall?
Is the stove output suited (calculated) to the size of the room?
All the best.
