It looks like plasterboard to me, (a DIY'er), but if you want to make sure you can take a sample, double bag it, (preferably in red bags I think), and send it off for testing by a reputable company.

Agree with @conny - looks like plasterboard imo. Can’t see fibres. When you say old, how old? Only way to 100% be accurate is as suggested with a sample analysis.

Thank you.

We’ve just realised that the door has an AIB so I’m now freaking out that the whole cupboard that houses the boiler (j32 ducted air) has asbestos boards in it. I’m not sure why only the door would have it and not the rest?

The house is a 1969 build but the warm air boiler was replaced in 2007.

We have some properties that are like that (door has acm, but everything else is plasterboard) and I don’t know why the door is done, perhaps for fire protection? If you haven’t disturbed the asbestos on the door, then no need to freak out until you have a confirmed case, and even then one exposure doesn’t mean you‘re going to get an asbestos related disease. Plenty of guys I have and still work with were exposed to asbestos fibres and they’re ok so far, iirc, it can take anywhere from 15 years upwards to get any disease from it. There’s possibly a way of testing for it too now so I’ve been told.

Foil backed plasterboard and standard plasterboard I can see

Nothing I can see to worry about

Fibre board maybe?

Put a match to it. Asbestos don't burn
