Please recommend me a sealant!

I've got an Ifor Williams horse trailer, and a very common problem on these is that water gets in where the side panel sits on the chassis, and stays there and rots the panel.

Ifor Williams do apply sealant at the factory, but it comes off. I've resealed it myself, but it comes off (pic attached).

Is there anything better I can use? I was even thinking non-setting Plumbers Mate or something? Grateful for any suggestions!

Consider visiting a car body repair shop, and ask for some seam sealant.......3M do a good product range, and either rigid or flexible formulas are available.
