Hi
i'm in the process of having a new bath installed at the moment,Can anyone please tell me if it is normal practice to use standard 15mm basin pipes to T off in order to fix 22mm bath pipework to for the taps?

That all depends on your plumbing system.

For a gravity system.. no. If you have a combination boiler, this should be ok.

If you have high pressure water supplies on hot and cold you can connect 15mm pipe to ¾" tap connectors, you won't need any 22mm pipework at all.
