I have a wiring diagram for a four zone heating system which shows a SPDT (Relay), this is to control two separate heating zones. One for two underfloor heating systems and the other for two additional heating zones.

The controllers are Honeywell ST9500.

Has anyone recommendations for what type of relay to use and whether there is one available specifically to use in this type oif situation and also what connections? Thanks if anyone can answer this.

Can you not get proper PCBs for this? Can you post the wiring diagram?

are there two pumps then?

mult zone heating, if using 2 port valves (like the honeywell ones with a built in swtich) don't need a relay.

If you do need one, then a octal based relay from the likes of RS, Farnell or CPC will do, ideally in a nice box on some DIN-rail.

I'm happy to help out, if you have more info, it's probably fair to say I'm an expert in this particular field (heating controls) :D

Yes there are two pumps, one controls two circuits of underfloor heating and the second two conventional heating curcuits (Rads) and hot water.

The diagram was suplied by Honeywell Technical Support

I have seen a Drayton relay but they want £53+vat which seems a tad over the top when you can buy a relay in Maplin for about £3?! Only trouble is I don't know much about relays, is it the same thing and where do I put my spade connectors? :confused:

OT Toasty, but if you come across a ACL OCC720 please let me know, went out of production about 10 years ago, uses a remote thermistor as the sensing element for the built in thermostat.Thanks.

your drawing is unclear as to which is NO / NC so it's difficult to be certain..but...

12 = 7
2 = 8

12=3 or 4
13=1 or 2
15= 6 or 5

care to tell us the make of relay so we can find a pin out?

if it's the one listed by sparkydude then thse numbers are right..
