So I bought an Aircon unit from Amazon and the unit is from Greece.

For an item one may travel with I can see using an adaptor has an advantage, but your not going to take an AC on holiday, so just ask Amazon what are they going to do, they must supply it with a UK plug.

They will refer to T&Cs and deny they are responsible for their sellers liabilities

I'm guessing you bought it through Amazon rather than from Amazon.

Inventor are a UK registered company, their contact details are available on Amazon so you could contact them directly.

Made in 2018!!! using R410A gas
In the UK, a ban on the use of virgin R410A refrigerant for servicing and maintaining air conditioning and refrigeration systems came into effect on January 1st, 2020. This means that only reclaimed or recycled R410A refrigerant can be used for servicing and maintaining existing systems. From January 1st, 2025, a ban on the use of all HFC refrigerants, including R410A, will come into effect for new equipment and systems with a few exceptions.

Send it back, if you can.

It'll be ruddy noisy and inefficient anyway.

I plug my AC into the chimney with an adaptor I have made, so it does not require a window to be left open, and for the electric vie a smart socket so I can turn it on before returning home so room is cool when I get home, at the moment use bottles for the condensate, a hole in the wall is still on the to do list, so every couple of hours have to empty it, which is why I can't leave it on when we go out.

It uses less than the solar panels produce, and only want it on warm days, so no reason not to use a heat pump to cool the house, although I only cool one room.

Since 1987 modified 1994 UK plug have been required for portable equipment the requirements here

As an alternative to fitting a standard plug an appliance may be fitted with a non-UK plug provided that an approved conversion plug is fitted.

Responsibility for fitting a standard plug or converter plug will fall to the first supplier of the appliance in the UK.

So there is not get out, there is a list of exemptions, but an AC is not in the list.
