Hi all & a very merry xmas.
My 88yr old aunt's boiler packed up last night, it's a Potterton Suprima.
She has it annually serviced and it's been fine up to now, although it's sixteen years old.
The red light is flashing continually and the reset button does nowt.
If I turn it off at the mains and then back on again the light goes a greeny yellow and the boiler makes a wierd buzzing noise, for a few seconds, before the light starts flashing red again.
I took the cover off and found that the fan won't spin when it makes the buzzing noise, however, I can spin the fan by hand very easily when the boiler is switched off.
I'm assuming it's a fan issue.
If so, is it an expensive repair or is it time to get a new boiler?
Thanks in advance,
Slime.
