Hi all
Still having problems with scalding hot water. Have had thermostat on tank changed, 3 port valve changed. still no result and getting desperate.
Does the boiler have a thermostat inside? Could it be the boiler at fault?.

Please tell us what equipment you have - model of boiler, pump, thermostats, timers etc.

Is your immersion heater turned on?

The boiler is a potterton promax, pump is wilo gold 80, valves are drayton x2 and a honeywell for the hot water (replaced a previous drayton).
Immersion is not switched on.
Have been told by an engineer that the pipework seems wrong for the system - there is a pipe leading back to the bottom of the hw tank and he couldn't understand why this should be? If this makes sense. I have added picture to try and help.

3 questions
Why is there nothing stopping the water reaching too high a temp?
Why do I not need to turn hw on when ch on????
Could immersion be interfering with system (have never used immersion)

You dont have a three port valve, you have 2*2 ports.
Which one was changed?
The pics dont really say much because there is nothing to show which one go/come from/to.

That is the job, basically, of the cylinder stat.

Something is wrong with, from what I've read so far, the HW valve operation.

Not if it's wired correctly and turned off.
