Potterton Combi 80 Lockout Problem

Just after some advice


Our boiler seems to be 9 times out of 10 locking out. If we can run hot water as soon as we press the reset button it will run hot until the tap is turned off and then the boiler will clank and bang and the red light comes up on the lock out???!!!
Does this mean it has had it???? Or would it be something that can be repaired

Flow switch sticking.
5 minutes for a short-medium term fix, 15 to change the part.
Search and all will be revealed!

yes Chris is right its a little microswitch that shouldnt cost more than a tenner and just screws in !

I think the retail price with VAT is closer to £18.

May not be the switch itself.

Last one I went to was a seized diaphragm unit shaft.

Its usually the flow switch rather than micro switch.
