We had noticed our hot water wasn't coming on recently, so I checked our HW/CH controller which is a Potterton EP2002 and it appeared seized up with the time stuck. Even switching the 4-way switches to the 'on' position didn't light the lights or turn anything on. The buttons to set the times were also doing nothing. Totally crashed!

I turned off the mains supply to it, but it remains on, so I assume there's a battery back-up in there. Would disconnecting this battery do the trick? If so, how do I get into the unit (or remove it from the wall), as I couldn't see any exposed screws anywhere?

Ta, Dave.

slot on bottom right hand side, put small flat blade driver in, push up and swing programmer out from the bottom....power off obviously.

Drop down the flap press and hold second and fourth button (step and +)

Thanks. Doing a reset as you suggested seemed to do the trick. It all seems to be working now.
