I had EXACTLY the same problem as Charlie567 - my boiler was coming on then switching off on its own accord.

I read the posts of Agile and ChrisR who also included a very helpful link to the Performa parts diagram, opened up the boiler and had a look at the switch.

It was indeed corroded and looked like it had been damaged by a previously leaking DHW valve which I had replaced last year.

The wiring looked complicated but not impossible so I went out and bought the new part Baxi 248207 and then carefully replaced each wire in its correct place.

I switched the power back on and could not believe it when the bolier fired up and turned off as normal.

A huge thankyou to both of you for explaining the problem and also giving me the confidence to go ahead with the repair. It's well within the ability of a good DIY'er.

Job done for sixteen quid!

Because so much of the wiring has to be replaced I dont generally advise that as a DIY job.

It would be much easier to just change the switch using a choc block but we are not really meant to do that!
