The red light indicates a hot water demand.

It should go out immediately the hot tap is closed.

so you have to fix it, probably his error at your expense, why not call ln some one in and ger it fixed and send the firt bloke the bill?

or tell him thats what you intend to do can he recomend some one (who he will pay for)

That's not reasonable. Moving old boilers often causes problems.

thanks 2 all for your help but it looks like it was a sticking wax dirverter hot water been on for 10 mins now no lockout .....thanks again great help

A sticking wax diverter would not cause any problems with hot water ( apart from some heat getting to the rads! )
